25th Ann. Zartan color change

I thought I was seeing things when I saw a slight tinge of green on my sealed "non-changing" card. I thought about freezing it, but didn't get around to it until I read this post.

Sure enough...

For reference, the "COLOR CHANGING FACE!" splash would be over Zartan's left shoulder in the artwork, just to the left of the "COBRA ENEMY" splash.

Figure was in the freezer for about fifteen minutes, and sat for another ten or so before the last shot was taken. In fact, he's still light-green now. Seems to be taking his time changing back.

I've heard another guy on the Allspark say that his Zartan was not marked color change, but still had color change. Maybe an overlap of extra figs on new cards.

**So on a whim, I ran over to Target and sure 'nuff they had restocked. Picked up Shipwreck, Zartan and Firefly to open. They had two Zartans, neither of which was labeled color change, but both were a shade of green, for what it's worth.

So it looks like we have the makings of a short saber/long tray type issue here hmm?

It seems there are no less than FOUR "Variants".

So with all these variants, which one is still being produced? I have wave three preordered and I'd like one that changes colour.

I believe the one still being produced is the color changing Zartan with the color-change card.

I'm thinking the exact opposite.

The color change paint didn't do what they wanted so they're just going with flesh tone and using cards without the logo on it. Parts are leftover from ones already produced so thats why gangrene neck Zartan is out there. Maybe we'll see one with absolutely no color change paint.

Hence, the abundance of variant Zartan on eBay. See how many on eBay are selling the one without the logo on the card. Try to find even a handful of the card version with the logo. I emailed sellers that used the logo on the card version in their auction and 9/10 times they didn't have the logo. They would respond with something like, I had no idea there was more than one version.

With that in mind, I'd just like to say, don't use stock photos for items you sell on eBay. People are still using images of Wave 3 with the yellow stalker in the group shot and you know for sure you're not getting it. False advertisement. I guess maybe if Wave 3 didn't have 79 variants I wouldn't be as upset, and people might not be as ignorant about this stuff.

Thank the heavens for this thread! I bought my Zartan (and anchor Shipwreck for a friend) the other day. Face AND neck turn green in the freezer. No "color
change" splash on card. Number is 72532. I would have been ticked if he didn't change color! And not to rub it in, but the backpack stays closed.
