    Scarlett?

Anyone know anything about the con pics of Scarlett? Is she really being released or was that a custom or what? I have a few Sig 6s, but have mostly given up on the line - but would love to get Scarlett (and hopefully they'll release a baroness)

    *sigh*

This would be soooo much easier if Hasbro just posted the damn explanations with the pictures, rather than have to let it diffuse from one fan to the next.

I am so very much disappointed that we never saw Scarlett, Baroness and Jinx. I know you most likely disagree, but I believe each one of these figures would have been an instant top seller and favorite of collectors and girls alike. These figures would have brought many collectors into the line. The very first year of 3 3/4 inch Joes had an ugly Scarlett. There is no doubt in my mind that the three ladies mentioned above would have been the pride of my collection.

Easily. Had they released S6 version of any or all three of the ladies they'd be selling for $40+ on ebay now.

I totally agree. Hopefully MC would do an all-girls S6 exclusive w/ those 3.

Using what mold? All MC does is reuse or modify existing molds. They just don't have the $$$ to make a new mold for an 8" figure.

As for 8" Scarlett being a hit w/ collectors, that was never in doubt. The problem is this is a mass production toyline w/ a very small collector base. While possible that Scarlett would pull in many more collectors, it would almost certainly be a temporary effect (as it was w/ other collector friendly figs), and even that would pale in comparison to the kid market. It made no sense to gamble on one figure when there were still plenty of others that could be done that would definately appeal to both groups.

Again, you can't hold a 3.75" fig as the standard for an 8". The S6 figs cost far more than 2x the cost to produce (I've heard as much as 10x). What are acceptable 3.75 sales don't cut it for 8 in. Even w/ the lower profit threshold, it is unusual to see a solo female fig. The original ARAH only did 4, and that was at the line's peak, which S6 never came close to reaching.

Then the cost of producing the entire 8 inch line was a risk Hasbro was willing to take. I firmly believe Scarlett or the Baroness would have sold out quickly and would have been hard to find from the very beginning. No doubt in my mind.

You wouldn't be the only one. I also liked Sigma 6's take on the femme Joes & Cobras. It's disappointing that Hasbro never released a Scarlett & Jinx S6 figure. The S6 version of Scarlett is excellent, and I liked that in the cartoons, Jinx's ties to Snake Eyes is addressed-something ignored in GI Joe The Movie & the Marvel/DDP comics.
