[quote=AlternateUniverse Steeler]This is nothing new. I worked for over 6 years at TRU had we had a customer (read dirtbag fat scalper ) that would use his pest company's trucks and drive to our store and all others in town and buy all rare figures and bend the card backs on ones he didn't buy. Then said roach motel brain would take toys to his store and toy shows and scalp away. It got so bad that when our refunds employee saw his truck she would page us and we would take all hot figures off pegs and toss in carts in back and station employees in aisle to watch him. I personally saw him do it on my day of at a walmart. This was pre-ebay as a well known company era and he boned a lot of people.

I found a few HTF items in TRU & Target before & I almost could not believe my luck until upon further inspection, all of those have bent cardbacks. I would like to blame the scalpers (who literally run inside once those doors opened). It's actually a very efficient operation, I think they tag-team, 1 gets a cart while the other grabs every HTF item they could get their hands on. Some even hide it in other less visible areas, I saw them do it so now I usually check the board games section.
