    Red face "Non existent" variant

This auction's title was all too true.....this variant really is nonexistent.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1982-GI-Joe-ULTR...QQcmdZViewItem

    Here's the recipe....

    head- grunt
    torso, arms, crotch, legs- hawk

assemble figure accordingly, then lay out in the sun until desired color is reached. Preheating is not necessary. Turn every few days. When body is a rich olive color, head is a golden brown, and hands are pasty white, the figure will be prime for misrepresentation on the online auction site of your choice.

Recipe yields one truly "nonexistent" variant.

If anyone is looking for one of these RIDICULOUSLY rare variants I would be more than happy to supply a finished product for the going market rate of $110.04

I think your right about the head. But the hands I'm not sure you're right about. They look factory painted and you can see the green underneath.

yup...they are factory painted. There has been discoloration due to sunlight/heat. The reason you can see green underneath is because hawk's arms were molded in green and had the hands painted. There is paint wear.

But the hands should have turned tan not white.

the reason that the face turned tan was because it is tan plastic. The hands are tan paint. The two mediums are affected in different ways when exposed to sunlight. (i'll even try and track down a few of my badly sundamaged '82 figures to compare hands)

    I've found another!!!!

I'll sell it to anyone for $70....i'll even throw on a grunt head(just tell me how dark you want it) and i'll get those hands whiter than they already are.

As you can see, the left hand is already turning white and the color of the body is already a perfect match with the "nonexistent variant".

To the five people who bid on this---Really!!?? $110.00?? come on! you know better!!

Hi, can you take a picture of this one standing next to a non discolored one (to see the difference)?

    Thanks!

this one actually isnt mine... i found this picture on the 'net.

i will try to do some cropping though to get a good comparison. It is easy to see that with a little more sunlight/heat, the body will continue its gradual darkening, and the hands will continue to become whiter.

I got a Gung Ho torso here that shows a perfect example of what heat can do to tan paint, it's like he's got a major farmers tan
