This body is the PERFECT accessory for Tomax and Xamot that my brother and I have been looking for.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. Not only is this an extremely limited-exposure character idea it's a variation on Cobra Commander that just doesn't need to be made. After fighting the throngs of collectors and HTS staffers last year for Destro I just don't feel like doing it all over again for this figure.
Why couldn't Hasbro have made a character that people actually know and/or care about? Yes, it's cute since it's an election year but I'd rather have seen just about any other character as this year’s exclusive. To say that it's a new mold or whatever clue Hasbro dropped earlier is not really true since I'm sure it will reuse the head from Wave 1's Commander.
It's funny that they went to all that trouble with the grand video announcement to make a big deal over what is ultimately a big letdown for many Joe fans, myself included. With all the recent questionable moves of Hasbro with this toy line (i.e. Specialist Matt Trakker, low production runs for the most sought after variant case of Wave 9 figures, slow and limited retail distribution for the whole line so far, over-inflated price increases, etc. ad nauseum) my excitement is over and my general interest is rapidly waning.
I no longer drive around "on the hunt" since gas is so expensive and I rarely find anything fresh on the pegs at almost every big box store. All I can say is that it was fun while it lasted but Hasbro has really mishandled what should be their true flagship property given the history and previous excellence associated with G.I. Joe. Collecting toys has always been a luxury now that I'm an adult and I'm fully prepared to give this luxury up.
Sorry, Hasbro. Better luck with the 30th, 35th, 40th, etc. anniversary releases...

I thought the Q&A said there would be TWO exclusive VEHICLES. Did I read that wrong?
If I have it wrong please correct me.
The CLAW will be debuted at the Con but is not an exclusive.
They also said that one exclusive would be 3 3/4 scale and the other one wouldn't.
Can't that same argument be used for last year's exclusive? Only educated, dedicated Joe collectors knew what the PDD was before that exclusive.Originally Posted by polyphenus
The whole point of exclusives like this is that you can get weird niche characters/figures of whatever toy line out there to a dedicated, specific audience that wants them and not have them rot on toy shelves if they were released at retail.
It would suck a whole lot more if they decided to release a main character this way.
For example, what if they had released the V2 Snake Eyes and Timber this way? Sure it is a popular character and would have sold great at the show but then we would have had fans from all over complaining they couldn't get it.
I think the choice of a figure like this is great for a con exclusive.
To the best of my knowledge, they have neither confirmed nor denied the "not an exclusive" part.Originally Posted by Syna3sthesia
