Look what I got over the weekend. The General.

Look what I picked up over the weekend for $40. The General Mobile Headquarters and Launch Platform (The General). It is complete, unbroken, no fading and the stickers are applied very well. The only thing that is missing is the pilot/driver/commander Major Storm with his accessories and File card. Is this a great deal or what?

What are other thoughts on this vehicle/headquarters/platform? I really enjoy it and am very pleased that the newer 25th/ME/POC/ROC stuff fits well into it. Personally, it looks and seems more like a Mobile HQ than the RoC Pit. We should have gotten this released again. It is only 20 years old.

Here are a couple of pics:

Nice deal. It looks brand new.

I've never had one. I didn't know that it opened up like that.

I like it when people take care of their merch! What a behemoth.

Noticed that your sound unit/lights still appear to be in working condition too.

Tactical applications: Overrun fortified enemy positions? Provide escort to the Defiant? ...

I'm suprised the lights still work. They are usually broken when you find a decent General. Great price too. I sold mine for more than that not too long ago. You got a great deal.

I've never owned a complete one. One I have now needs too much to complete.

Just seems like a landing platform with wheels, except when the mortar comes out, then it's a large mobile mortar. It can't even hold a lot of aircraft, either.

The HQ aspects are merely two identical controls rooms, in that aspect it has nothing on the Mobile Command Center, except maybe you don't have unfold it. No jail cell, no beds, no swivel chair, no working winch, no refueling stations...missing some HQ essentials there. (It does have the helicopter pad , manned defense stations, radar, computer consoles and working lights, though.)

It's not a bad item, but for the space it takes up and the cost, it's nothing spectacular. GI JOE has a few big land machines, now if it were Cobra, it would stand out, since they never had a mobile HQ toy.

I picked up Special Missions Brazil Dialtone and Leatherneck complete with filecards and very little paint wear for $15 each at a local antique mall!

Escort for the Defiant would be a definite use...

This would be good for assaulting an enemy base, such as an airbase. It would be an easy target for bombers and attackers like the Fang II and condor though...

Cobra just got the short end of the stick... their biggest base/vehicle was the terrordrome. I certainly like it, but its no flagg or defiant..
