    1986 Toy Fair catalog

David Willis (creator of the web comic Shortpacked!) was able to acquire a copy of the 1986 Toy Fair catalog and scanned and posted the pages.

Here are the pics in case no one has seen them yet:

    Thumbs up

Wonderful stuff. It all still holds up too, especially when it comes to vehicles. G.I. Joe vehicles are the only toyline that generally doesn't get better with progress.

Usually the pre-production test shots looked better than the actual figure we got, but in this case I'm glad that wasn't the Hawk we got at retail. That camo on his legs is awful.

It's cool to see these figures with their colors bright and clean.

Amazing how case quantities have changed. Back then, you got 24 serpentors to a case, and 12 Thunder Machines and 48 figures in the assortments. Nowadays you'd get 4, 2 and 8, and even the vehicles are assorments now.

Interesting to see how the dynamic has changed with so many retailers dictating the market more than the toy companies directing flow.

Apparently one of the longest standing members of Yojoe.com is now a troll. OK then... This troll is going to find a bridge somewhere and play Warhammer.

    What's left when honor's gone?
Death is the best kick of all, why do you think God saved it for last?
