1983 hiss with white stickers instead of red

I was looking through my collection, sorting out the stuff that i can sell and noticed one of my hiss tanks has white 788 on both sides instead of the red 788. I'm just curious as to whether or not this is a variant. any help would be great.

There are three different versions of the 788 stickers on the side of the Cobra H.I.S.S. Early store versions had clear 788 stickers, later store versions had red 788 stickers, and mail-in versions had white 788 stickers.

Did the mail-in have red stickers also available? I swear I bought my with flag points. It has red stickers. My HISS driver came from a garage sale since the mail in came with no driver.
I noticed the archive is inaccurate about the mail-in availability. I am looking at one of my original Top Secret Dispatches from Duke (http://www.yojoe.com/archive/inserts...dispatch.shtml) and the offer expires January 31, 1986 meanig the reference page above as an error. The HISS w/o driver is offered on the back page for 4 flag points and $4.00. I got it, a parachute pack, a MANTA and the Wolverine in the same order.

I had one with the solid red stickers in 1983 when it came out. That one got beat to **** through play, so I ordered one in 1989 or so for I think something like $8.95. It came with the white stickers. They kept the HISS in stock for a long time it seems.
