\r\n Inspired by the thread about favorite figures, I got to wondering: which were your least favorites? The ones you had but didn\'t really care to use? The characters that always met ignominious ends? Or the ones who just sat in your box? Maybe it was the completionist impulse. Or maybe your parents were making their best guess for Christmas. Or maybe you wanted it at the store, and once you got it home you just couldn\'t remember why. I\'m sure we all had them. And let\'s face it, you need some expendable Joes in the mix to keep the good ones alive.
\n
\nWhen Sneak Peek went on a group mission, he usually died first. On the rare occasion he didn\'t die first, he died second.
\nSci-Fi was purely cannon fodder for his best friend Blaster to grieve and avenge. Notable exception: he once sacrificed himself to save the rest of the team!
\nDEF Mutt ran lone night patrols at HQ and would usually meet with one terrible unspeakable fate or another.
\nMega Marines Clutch drove the Monster Blaster APC, but seldom got out of the cockpit alive because he was so orange.
\nWhen the Tomahawk would arrive for an extraction, Lift Ticket was almost always shot, forcing a crash landing and the continuation of our adventure.
\nI don\'t think I ever did anything with Battle Corps Outback or Bazooka. They manned turrets on the Battle Wagon. I think.

\r\n Crystal Ball got NO RESPECT. He was traditionally killed off starting every battle. He usually took a Mauler round to the chest and was flung across the room.
    \r\n
\r\nIt wasn\'t until I read that his likeness was supposed to be Vincent Price that I gained the smallest respect for him...but he is still bottom of the pile.
    \r\n
\r\nI didn\'t care much for Zandar either. Too pink to do battle if I remember correctly.\r\n

\r\n Yeah, Sci-Fi usually sat at the bottom of my Joe box. Just didn\'t care for the neon green. Also, I rarely used Grand Slam, but used Flash quite a bit. Odd!
\nAnother one was Tan Clutch-I prefered the original\r\n

I actually liked Chuckles too, he was from my home state and that little pistol with working holster was just awesome. Since he was undercover I never minded the tropical shirt, it was the pants that bothered me. The pants were a dead give away he was a soldier, he should have had jeans on and tennis shoes.\r\n

\nI agree the pants are weak. A Lot of the times when I played back in the day I never actually played gijoe with the toys. I would make up my own stories etc. I had Chuckles in and totally stripped down cobra moray. ( no missiles guns or anything) He was a cop fighting the drug dealers in Miami. Sounds like a show i remember................\r\n

\r\n The top three on my Suck-o-meter would have to be:
    \n
    \nCrusty Balls
    \nCraptor
    \nSuckpentor
    \n
\nAnd honorable mention goes to Suck-Out with those rediculous radar dishes on his arms. Though if you used him as a lobotomized body with a CPU grafted to his brain that gets commands from a remote, then hes somewhat more tolerable. The figure itself was not bad looking and went well with 86 Sci-Fi in appearance, but his accessories ruined him.\r\n

\r\n On the Cobra side of things, I had a secondhand Raptor with no wings who was beyond useless. The highlight of his career came when the Joes were attacking Cobra\'s cliffside mountain fortress. Raptor was firing a machine gun alongside the troopers and waxing poetic about being a bird, so one of the Joes called out, \'if you\'re really a bird, why can\'t you fly?" and so of course Raptor leaped off the cliff to his death.
    \n
\nI also remember doing a storyline about Crystal Ball being Chuckles\' demented werewolf grandfather.\r\n

\r\n I think it would have to be Dr. Mindbender. When I played I always portrayed him as a whiny, sniveling, weakling of a character who would usually get killed early on. I remember one time I had his cape get caught in the engine of the Warthog and was cut to ribbons.
    \n
\n In the mid 90s I ended up burning the figure at the stake. It was tore up by that point so I figured what the ****.\r\n

And you must be...The Monopoly Guy! (Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls reference)
    \n
\nMindbender never fit in and I believe it\'s because he subconsciously reminded me of either the old man from Monopoly or Mr. Peanut (or perhaps a combination of those characters). Also, Tele-Viper always got killed early. I just never liked the way he looked and his \'weapon\' was pretty crappy to boot.\r\n

\r\n Without a doubt Serpentor was abused the most. In fact, whenI found a cache of old joes and joe parts at my parents, all I could find was serpentors waist and and arm, all painted with either red paint or red fingernail polish. He did a lot of bleeding.
    \n
\nI hated his character and thought was was stupid in all gold. Also dead were anything neon or with neon parts. Really? Neon army guys?
    \n
\nStrangely enough, on the flipside, I seem to recall Storm Shadow always switching sides in most battles, it really sucked to be Cobra.\r\n

\r\n Big Boa... I thought he was an entire waste of space. If I remember correctly I got him for my bday and I traded him to my friend almost immediatly. The only cool figure in my book that didn\'t come with a gun was Storm Shadow.
    \n
\nDeejay - what were they thinking with that figure? I think I always killed him off when I played as a kid.\r\n

\r\n My two Star Brigade Armor-Tech figures died within seconds of every battle. That armor did nothing for them.
    \n
\nAs I got more figures and didn\'t need to use everybody, the first ones to fall were Major Bludd, Dojo and Rock-Viper. I\'ve since gained much more respect for the other two, but Dojo is as useless as ever.
\nThe 91 Cobra Commander was terrible, and I dropped him even before I got a replacement CC. I put a Shredder cloak on Barricade to turn into some kind of Doc Doom type, so that Cobra had a leader. He didn\'t get much respect, either, as his troops usually turned against him at some point. In fact, SAW Viper beat him up so badly he broke his shoulder and his head was knocked right loose. That was pretty much the end of Barricade as Cobra leader.\r\n

I forgot about Dojo. He was one of the most awkward figures. I had a running gag with my friends where he\'d be a stilted but friendly weirdo who would introduce people to the marvelous wonderland that exists only in his mind, singing in a high operatic voice, "Wel-come to de land of Do-jo!"\r\n

\r\n For me, Leatherneck always died but it ended up motivating everyone else. Sneak Peek died a lot too, but no one cared.\r\n

\r\n Grunt, Short Fuse and Zap ... they were all so generic looking, so they got that kind of respect. Often they were the guards who got kidnapped/killed during Cobra infiltrations. Duke didn\'t get much respect either.\r\n

\r\n My Doc figure got no real use as a kid. I loved the character in the comics and cartoons, but I didn\'t know how to play with the figure. It\'s the only figure I have from my childhood thats in mint condition.\r\n

\r\n Blowtorch, sadly. It wasn\'t that I didn\'t like him, it\'s just that he was one of those figures that wasn\'t fun without his gear. I wasn\'t very good with not losing figure\'s gear before 1986. It wasn\'t a problem for figures like Grunt and Cobra Trooper. Lose their rifles? No problem. Give them different ones. But, Blowtorch without his flamethrower wasn\'t much fun. It was his thing. Another figure that I found to be unfun without his gear was Zartan. I remember losing stuff like his pads.\r\n

\r\n Once I lost his gear, FAst Draw was always an "easy kill" for Cobra. For some reason, I never liked Snow Serpent as a kid either...\r\n

First guy that comes to mind is Scoop. Do the Joes really need a field reporter? I have no idea why I got that guy.

And try as I might I just couldn't fit Crystal Ball into anything.

Flipping through the vintage pics it occurs to me, I guess I didn't use Cover Girl much at all either. That's why she was in Mint condition for the archive.
